Our little girl has FINALLY made her grand entrance into this world today!
Savannah Ruth Jenson
Born 6:02 am
8 lbs 20 inches

We couldn't be happier to have "sister out". We went in yesterday around 7 pm to get things started again, and the progress was slow but it didn't take as long as we thought. Things were fully dilated by 4 am and we waited an hour before we started pushing just after 5 am. She was able to come into this world the natural way so even though the wait was hard, it was definitely worth the wait. Thanks to all the family and friends that stopped by and sent their love and congrats. We will post more pictures soon!

So we have had to wait for this baby girl longer than we ever would have guessed. She still is not here, but she will be here by Friday at the LATEST! I had another doc appointment today and finally there was progress! I am now at a 2 and 50% effaced. Now we have more hope that she'll be able to come on her own, or that the pitocin will work this time. We are scheduled to go into the hospital to have my water broke and to get on pitocin again tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 pm. Hopefully we will have a baby early Friday morning!
In the meantime, even though waiting for her to come is hard and a bit annoying, I have really enjoyed the time with my mom, sisters, and Carter. We have spent many days just shopping and eating good food. :) My sister Julie even came into town last Saturday, so it was kind of nice to not have just had a baby so that I could hang out with them all. Carter is a ham as usually. He loves the color pink so he always grabbing the pink shoes wherever we go.

We have also been able to visit my cousin's Lee & Jen with their new little boy. He came 6 weeks early and had to stay in the NICU for 3 weeks, so they have had a long road, but he is adorable. Of course my mom knows how to calm him down. She is a naturally, and I'm so glad to have her here! Part of me feels bad that she will only be here less than a week when this little girl does finally make her appearance, but really it has been a blessing since I think it's been a nice break for her to not have to take care of someone else for the last week. I've enjoyed this relaxing week, but I am ready to take care of my little girl so check back this weekend and we'll definitely have pictures of her!

So the update is....we don't have our baby girl to hold tonight. :( After 8 hours on pitocin I didn't dilate at all, so truly she is not ready to come. We could have done a c-section, but making that decision would probably mean that the rest of our kids would have to come that way since that would be my second. To me that is a big decision, even though c-sections are not bad and I am sure the baby and I would come out of it healthy. We are going to give her until next Friday when I'll be 42 weeks and she will have to come out since the risks go up dramatically. Hopefully this next week will give her the time to come on her own, or that the pitocin will help next time, and if not then I know that I did all that I could. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We know that we will hold our little girl sometime...she is just already testing our patience. ;-)
So today is the big day! If we're lucky then we'll have this girl tonight, but it can also take awhile so hopefully by tomorrow she'll make her grand entrance. We thought we'd do a little guessing game...how much do you think she'll weigh and how long will she be? Carter was a few days past his due date as well and he came out at 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long. So what is your guess? :)

We went to the doc today and we have good and not so good news...The not so good news is that I am still NOT dilated in the least, even though she is head down and way ready to go. Before today being induced wasn't really on the table because I had a c-section previously and the doctor is really hesitant because there are higher risks. But since I am past my due date and I am done being pregnant the doc consented to try to induce me this Friday at 1pm. It's not a guarantee that I'll have a little girl since I am so tight, but we are praying that the medicine works to get things rolling. If I don't really progress on the medicine after 8 hours then I guess we are just going to keep waiting since I don't want another c-section. So pray that everything just works well to get this little girl safely here by Friday night. The other great news is that my mom just flew into town today to help, so that is another reason I don't want to wait much longer since she is only here until the 27th. Carter and Grandma have already bonded and it's so fun to see them interact. Carter has a lot of changes going on this week with me staying home with him now and then his sister coming this weekend. Hopefully he can adapt well. :) Anyway, if all goes well we should have a little girl on 10-15-10. We'll hopefully have lots of pictures to post soon!

So my due date of 10-10-10 has come and almost gone, and I am still very pregnant. :( Due dates are a funny thing since they just get your hopes up. Needless to say these last couple of days and the next couple will probably the be some of the longest of my life as I wait for this little girl to make her grand entrance into this world. We were able to get her room ready as much as possible this weekend. Since I am planning on still working part time from home we kept the office upstairs now for convenience, but we were able to fit the crib and changing table in and still have space. The closet isn't the best since we just have to lay the clothes in it, but we are grateful for what we have, and are so excited to dress her up in all the cute outfits that we received and bought. Hopefully she'll be here before this time next week...when is your guess? As of last Wednesday I wasn't even a 1 so I might have awhile, and then again I might not. Babies definitely have their own agendas. As always we'll keep you updated!

Carter has learned to count from 1-10, knows all of the basic shapes, as well as recognizes a handful of letters, and practically all of his success can be given to shows like Sesame Street, or Baby Einstein. Christina gets a few DVDs from the library every couple of weeks, and when we give him the time he just sits glued to his "bear chair" soaking in all the information. Today Carter got a new handful of DVDs and one of them was a Blue's Clues. He says the word so funny that we had to capture it on camera. He did get a little distracted of course so this video also shows off the new changing table that came in a million pieces that we just put together the other night. :)

Carter has started to "sing" songs to us on his piano. Enjoy.

On Sunday we had a great day trying to listen to Conference. We caught some in the morning in between taking care of Carter, and then we drove up to the cabin and listened to it on the radio. It definitely is hard to catch everything with an active 2 year old, but luckily we can read and listen to them again. As you know, one of our favorite things to do up at the cabin is go on a tote gote ride as a family. We look kind of funny all 3 & 7/8ths of us crammed on the little bike, but we love it! Carter is such a good sport and he just hangs on tight as we go buzzing through the mountains. This time my hat fell off, so after we turned around to go back and get it Carter took it upon himself to keep it on. You can see in the picture even when we were standing still his little hand stays on top of my head and one around my neck. He is absolutely adorable!

We were hoping that a long tote gote ride and a very bumpy 4-wheeling ride would help shake our little girl out, but nothing yet. We have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see what the doc says. Christina is hoping to convince him to break her water or something on 10-10-10 so we can finally hold little Savannah, but we'll see what he says. Keep checking back for updates!

With this post I finally finished my goal of catching up with all the pictures that I missed posting over the last several months. For some reason I can't find all the videos I would have liked to share, but oh well. :) Here are a few more shots to finish out the summer. Aren't my boys just the cutest, most handsome things you've ever seen?! Carter is growing up so much, and 8 out of 10 times him and Joey get along like best friends. Carter still loves to watch Toy Story and it's very rare when he falls asleep during watching them, but with a set up like that how can anyone resist?
Carter is definitely a little boy, even though he loves the color pink and purple. A couple of months ago he got into this shooting fetish where everything became a gun. One day when we were coming home from Grandma's house he kept making a gun noise and then say, "Oh, Andy died." Andy and him like to play video games together.
We've also enjoyed some great times with our friends James and Kelly. They brought us back some of the coconut syrup from Hawaii that we all love, so we had to have a pancake breakfast to celebrate the deliciousness of the syrup. Granted our blueberry pancakes weren't on the same level as the macadamia nut, but the syrup made it all worth it. Carter and James's birthdays are close together in July so we had more cake, but of course the candles were Carter's favorite part.

Another one of our favorite summer things has been checking our garden. Our tomatoes and peppers still really haven't turned colors yet, but its fun to check on them. We also have raspberry bushes from the previous owners, and even though they didn't produce much fruit it was still fun to go out and pick them. We plan on being much better with our garden next year.
One of Christina's old roommates had a baby boy in August and she had a super cute shower the day of Carter's birthday in July. So while the boys made the cake and finished cleaning, Christina was able to enjoy some girl time with old college friends.
Here are a few more pictures of Mike pulling out the stumps in our backyard. There were 12 in all, and our Jeep did pretty good. A couple of them he had to soak to make them easier to pull out, but he pulled them all out within about an hour and a half. Of course we ran out of time and money this summer to build our own deck, but now that the stumps are gone that will be the first thing we do next summer. We just loving being able to work on our house!

At the end of July we were so happy to have 4 out of the 6 siblings of Christina's that live out of Utah come into town. Everyone stayed at our house, which was really so much fun! All the cousins loved being together and teasing each other. We talked about this trip briefly before, but the main reason for this trip was for Mark from Oregon to come and switch cars with Nate from Nebraska. Ginger came along with Mark and stayed a few days longer, and at the end of the weekend Julie's family from Nevada even joined us! So with Sarah and Jana and Christina we had 7 out of 9 siblings! That is pretty much unheard of. We took advantage of the time together by going up to the Jenson cabin. It's great to have a place to get away up in the mountains.
The kids loved the time outside and swings, as well as the family walk to Frogberg lake. We were so impressed how well all the cousins played together, and Carter didn't too bad himself. Him and Joey actually bonded pretty well that weekend. Jana's father-in-law, Lyle, was even in town so we had just a great party up at the cabin on Friday.
We also enjoyed cruising around on the bikes, and eating smores with Nutella and GINORMOUS marshmallows! We even played this Ninja attack game, that was fun to play, and even more fun to watch. You have to try to slap the hand of the person next to you with only taking one step, and then you have to freeze in that position until it's your turn to try to avoid getting hit. A few other things we did that weekend was go to the dinosaur museum, and the petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point. Then we ended off the weekend with the Cousin Reunion. We love to have family come and visit and we can't wait to see everyone again!
