Sadie Ann Jenson

She's here!!! Born at 10:16 this morning, our little Sadie came into this world at 7.4 lbs and 19 inches long. Smaller than her brother and sister, but I'm sure she'll be able to keep up.  :-) My water broke at 2:15 am after only being asleep for about an hour and a half because Mike was at the cabin and when he's gone I seem to stay up late and clean.  :-) Luckily his phone was by him when I called to tell him the surprising news. I didn't have any contractions until 3, and then they didn't get really intense until closer to 4:30 when we were getting to the hospital. I really wanted this little one to come on her own, and she did great! Labor wasn't bad after the epidural and I didn't have to push long. My doc was even able to deliver her last minute because he was at the hospital for a health fair and happened to look at the delivery board and saw I was here. So all my prayers were answered and we are so grateful to have Sadie here. The kids haven't seen her yet so more photos to come!

Our Princess

Savannah had her first princess party on Saturday and she was so excited! She borrowed a Cinderella costume for the big day and loved the bounce house, castle pinata, and delicious castle cake. She is such a cute girlie girl, and our little princess.

Baby shower

My sister Jana put together a family baby shower at Applebees yesterday and it was perfect! I had to move the tables out so I could get to the chair, but so worth it.  :-) It was great to see everyone and the food was delicious. They bought me this perfect bedding and bumper for the crib. It will complete the room. Now we are extra ready for our little Sadie to join us. Hopefully she'll be here by the end of this month.

Perfect weekend!

We took off work today, and went up to the cabin on Sunday after church and had a perfect "weekend"! The weather was just cool enough and the bugs weren't bad yet. The kids had a blast and played really well together. They mostly loved riding the dirt bike with Mike, and throwing rocks in the lake. Mike even cut down a dead tree that ended up being hollow at the bottom. It was really exciting to watch. I just relished in all the beauty, and realized that the next time we'll be able to make it up will be with Sadie in our arms...at least we hope. :-)

Haircuts take 2

So on Sunday we thought it was a nice relaxing day, beautiful weather, and with minimal fighting from the kids. They had watched a show in our room before bed, came down and got us to tuck them in, then we finished our show and headed to bed. Well, we were very surprised, and a little disgusted, to see chunks of soft brown hair about 3 inches long in the mess of dirty clothes they had thrown on the floor, as well as black spots all along our ceiling. LIGHTBULB: So that is why they were being so good is because they were up to no good together! The hair was obviously Savi's, and the black spots turned out to be an herbal tea bag that had broken because they were throwing it up again and again. We had seen Savannah before bed but didn't notice anything, so we took a flashlight and investigated further. Sure enough there were some short hairs in the back of her head. You can't really tell unless you know to look, and we know it could have been so much worse so we are grateful overall. Carter is our most cautious kid so we are surprised he did it, but why do they always go for scissors and hair?!
