Christina's brother Dan from Lincoln stopped by a couple of weeks ago to pick up a truck for his business. It was a very quick trip with his flight coming in late at 12:30am and him leaving by 4 pm the next day, but we managed to get some family together at IHOP to take advantage of this rare occurrence of Dan in Utah. The last time he was here was almost 5 years ago when Aaron and Karen got married.
It was a crazy weekend overall since we had to finish painting and getting the basement ready for carpet on Monday morning. Christina's uncle helped with the wiring, and then worked on painting the ceiling, doors, and baseboards. We went to bed really late on Sunday, but we got it done and the everything looks great! I'll post before and after pictures soon.
This is Carter counting...he misses a couple of numbers, but he keeps amazing us how big he is getting.

Savi is 6 months now and she is in the 92 percentile for height and 50 percentile for weight. We are just waiting for her two bottom teeth to poke through all the way. Last night she said her first word..."ba ba" It's probably just babble, but it could totally mean bottle or Mike likes to think she is saying Daddy in Chinese. Either way, it is super cute to hear her little voice. :)

We finally captured a video of Savi rolling over! She pretty much can only go one way right now, but it is soo cute!

So a few weeks back Carter was playing quietly in the bathroom and instead of stopping everything to check on him we checked up on him a little later and this is what we found...

He had found Mike's travel size gel and smeared it all over his head and on his pants and on the carpet...bright blue. I was so thrown off that my first reaction was to laugh and then grab the camera and Mike, then we talked discipline. Ahh...the things kids get into.
On Saturday we had one of those sad yet peaceful days. Mike's Grandma Jenson passed away on Wednesday and there was a beautiful service for her on Saturday. All her children shared precious memories of their mom and then all grandchildren sang I am a Child of God. The rain waited to fall until we left the grave site and even though we are very sad that her smiling face is gone from this life, we feel very peaceful. The knowledge of eternal families is definitely the reason that we can feel peace at this time where her sickness made her deteriorate quickly. We were able to see her in the hospital last Sunday and even though it was hard for her to talk we got her to laugh a bit and of course shared some loving words. She always brightened up when the great-grandkids came. She will be greatly missed, but we know that she has many loved ones, as well as a son that passed away at a young age, that she can be with now until we see her again.
You know the list of projects that you try to get through but never can? Well, I finally crossed off going through Savannah's closet. I've been wanting to do it for months, and I wish I would have because I found some brand new cute outfits that she never has worn and are now too small! Of course she has to wear them at least once. :) Our little Savi is over 5 months now, and she just started rolling over! Now we really have to keep an eye on her. Also, her two bottom teeth are about to poke through. We can feel the hard spots in her gums and she is a bit fussier than usual. She loves to chew on everything and already loves food. She grabs at things we have in our hands, and she's been on rice cereal for a bit. She is just growing up so quickly!
