We signed our lives away today!! We met with our Realtor, Rob, and a title company to sign the hundred pages that need to be signed to get a house these days. We're so happy this day has finally come! Everything should be settled and funded by Monday or Tuesday and then we will be real homeowners. It's been kind of bumpy, strange road being a short sell, but it was worth the wait to get into this house. We love it and we love our neighbors. We will be happy here for a long time.
Of course with it being a Saturday we were able to get a lot of things done as well, which felt awesome. We broke out the paint in the main bathroom, which is a light and dark shade of gray. That might sound strange for bathroom colors, but it really matches the countertop, which we won't be replacing anytime soon, really well.

We also had a ton of help watching Carter and doing projects from Christina's niece Emma and her friend Cassidee. They were troopers! We had to move a bunch of "decorative" rocks that the previous owners had everywhere over to the side of the house and they created quite the system.

We also worked on cleaning the blinds, which of course led to playing in the water, which Carter loved! Everyone was thoroughly soaked after Carter got the hose.
We have also had a tremendous amount of help in our yard from Christina's Aunt & Uncle, Cindy & Colin. They have come over a few times this week and helped us rip out all the old, dead, weeded plants in the front yard. When we first came to look at the house, the yard was beautiful, but with time and neglect everything was just not worth saving. Unfortunately it took a few bee stings to get it cleared, but we finally have a clear front yard. (we'll post better pictures of the transformation later) Ella was also quite the helper. Colin even mowed our lawn, which was so helpful! He said that we might like home ownership, but we might rethink it after we have to mow this lawn. :-)

Another big step was painting our laundry room. We are in desperate need to move in our washer and dryer, so we broke out the Lemon Ice paint, and we think it looks awesome! It will look even better with the Frosted Pine green that we'll be putting in the kitchen soon. Christina's Uncle Steve was great to stay late and help us get a first coat on the walls.
