HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY LISA!!!

With the craziness of moving in and working on the house, it was nice to take a break and celebrate Lisa's birthday. We can't believe she is 24 years old! She looked so pretty in her new blue shirt since it made her eyes pop. She has a way to make us all laugh and it was fun to see her again.

A fun fact...Analise & Lisa are actually the same age now. Lisa really enjoyed her birthday party, especially the cake part.

This year she did amazing with the presents! In the past she has just sat there and let us open the presents, but this year she ripped right into them! It was fun to see her excitement and then we had Carter join in the fun. She mostly got some really great new clothes and candy. She's going to look ever cuter now!

We had her party at a park near our house, and Carter loved playing on the slides, but mostly he just loves his uncles. Andy can get him to laugh at anytime, and this was one of those times

After the fun we went back to work on the house. We actually got a lot accomplished today. Terry cleaned out the window well that had a TON of stuff in it. We can't believe that all of this fit into the hole. We actually even found a few keepers, like a sled, sponge, and shovel.

The hardest thing about the house right now is the DUST! There is always a constant layer of white dust everywhere you look! Carter of course loves it, but we will be glad when it's all gone, although we're not sure if we'll ever truly get rid of it.
Mike has made tremendous progress on covering and sanding the glass blocks. It's so hard because he has 22 sections that he has had to mud, tape, sand, mud, sand, mud...you get the idea. He has worked super hard and it is starting to look REALLY good. Carter has also becoming an expert at sanding.

Another big project that we finished this weekend was to install an electric outlet for both the dryer and the stove. When we moved in both only had a gas option, and our dryer is electric, so that was a change that needed to happen quickly. While we were working on it we decided to have the stove set up for an electric option in the future, even though currently it is a gas stove. It cost more than we wanted, but Christina's uncle Steve did all of the work and labor for free so we were very lucky. He did a great job and we can't wait to get the room painted so that we can start doing laundry again!
Additionally, we tore down the mirror in the main bathroom because we are planning to start painting soon. Our plan is to paint the room a light gray with a dark gray accent in a couple of the places. It might sound crazy, but it will look fantastic and really go well with the countertop that we won't be replacing for awhile. We found an awesome mirror for cheap at Ross to replace the big plan one that we will spray paint the frame black and it will look amazing. We can't wait to say goodbye to the blue!
