The tile floor is laid! We still have to do the grout and seal all the tiles, but the major part of the floor is done! We stayed until late last night as Mike was determined to finish the floor. We had just enough pieces to finish it too. The spaces that you can see in the back will go under the vanity so no one will actually see them.

This bathroom has been a long hard project to do at night after working a full day, but it's been great to see it come together and recognize how beautiful the new bathroom will look. The dark floor tile matches the decorate strip in the tub and really pulls the two tiles together.

This last week has been a difficult one for the Jenson and McElhaney family due to the sudden death of Cheri's sister, Cassandra. Cassandra was Mike's aunt, but they were actually the same age; she being only 6 months older. They grew up together and spent many days playing together, cooking frozen burritos, going to Reams for 10 cent candy, and pulling their money together to buy one big pickle at the movie theater. We all have many happy memories to remember and celebrate her life.

Cassandra has been sick for years, and especially within the last year her health has worsen, but no one expected her to leave us so soon. The hardest part is that Cassandra left behind 3 children under 7. They have handled the loss well, and the family has really pulled together to take care of them. The funeral service was beautiful and many blessings came in from loved ones and the church. We are just blown away by the miracles and love that have been shown.

Yeah for tiling! It's been awhile since we tiled the counter top at the cabin, but we're back at it again. This time in the main bathroom at Mike's parents' house. Mike is really a pro at making things look great. We can't wait until he can make improvements in our future house.

Probably the least favorite part of this project so far has been caulking the tub. The silicon caulk was just hard to keep smooth and it doesn't hold paint which makes it harder. But of course Mike makes it look professional in the end. The next step is to tile the floor which will be the last big project before putting everything back in. We're coming towards the end!

HAPPY 30TH ANGELA!!!

What a fun Memorial Day! Mike's family put together 30 presents for Angela to open, and we had fun celebrating her day. She is so talented and fun to be with.

Even though she's reached the 30th mark she was given a cane to help assist her through it all. :-) Thanks Melissa!

Angela's friend Sarah has an adorable and hyperactive little boy, Adam. He loved learning how to play the drums with Mike. Mike also had to be good at dodging the high sticks flying towards his face.

We finally bought something for this little boy who will be here before we know it. Christina received a bonus so we went shopping for the baby! We found this antique white crib that we loved at Target, but the only one that had any in stock in the whole valley was down in American Fork. So we decided Friday night as we were out in the green machine that we would go and look at it. Fortunately we were able to find one in stock, but unfortunately Mike and I didn't even think about how we'd get the crib home. We were off by only 4 inches when we took the crib out of the box and tried to stuff it into the car piece by piece. So close! Not a huge deal though because Christina was going down to Provo the next day so she picked it up in the truck.
It was way simple to put together and it's really sturdy. Right when we were looking at a couple came up and told us how they bought the exact same crib and they absolutely loved it. It was really reassuring to know that we were getting a quality crib, and the best part was that it didn't break the bank!

It definitely fills up our little second bedroom, but it's fun to have something big for the baby. We know that you don't need a crib right away, but it's one of the coolest things to buy. We can't wait to see how our crib bedding that we are having made will look. Exciting times!

So of course with the end of classes and beginning of summer, it didn't take long for Mike to dive into project to keep him busy. Our current project is remodeling his parents' main bathroom. Mike gutted it in one day, and is in the process of working from 7-11 each night to put it back together.

His parents' tried to talk themselves into saving the bathtub or the sink, but Mike made the easy decision that it all needed to go. It was old and had water damaged and Cheri just deserves a brand new bathroom!

The hardest part so far was trying to get to the tub in and level. It took a couple of tries, but it looks great!

The crazy thing is that there was absolutely no insulation behind the wall so we pulled out some leftover from the cabin and filled it in. It makes a huge difference! Now everyone in the living room won't hear what you're doing in the bathroom. A very good improvement. :-)
