Savi had her 4 month check up and shots last Tuesday, and she did NOT like the shots. The nurse doing them wasn't the best either, but Savi had a blood curdling scream that I had never heard before. It was so sad and she was pretty upset for awhile after. Even though that part is no fun it is fun to find out how big and tall she is:
Weight: 13.71 pounds - 52%
Height: 25.39 inches - 88%
She is pretty consistent with how Carter was at 4 months, but for a boy Carter was in the lower percentiles:
Weight: 13.15 pounds - 15%
Height: 25.59 inches - 54%
On top of the shots she got Carter's cold as well so we've had two very clingy, snotty, whiny kids. Mike also made a ton of progress on the basement and we are almost ready for insulation and sheet rock on the ceiling. It will hopefully be in by the end of this week/early next week. I will have to post pictures of the transformation soon.

Wow, it has been way too long since we've posted! Even though it feels just like yesterday when Savannah Ruth was born she will be 4 months TOMORROW! Crazy! That is pretty much how our lives over the past months can be summed up as many of you understand. It truly has been heart wrenching for me not to have time to post about all the changes of Carter and Savi and what we are up to, but with two kids time definitely slips by quicker. That and also working from home part time takes up every "spare" moment I can squish out of the day. So, my new goal is to blog once a week, probably on Sundays. Of course I already faltered on that goal since today is Monday, but the kids are with grandma so Mike and I could do somethings for our basement, and technically today is a holiday from work so here we are.
Updates...Mike is doing well at his job as a Manufacturing Engineer, but it is not his ideal job so he might start looking around for a Mechanical Engineer position in the near future. Mike is also very busy working on finishing our basement! We are taking the plunge to complete the downstairs and the dollar sign is adding up quickly, but Mike is helping keep it down quite a bit by doing a lot of the electrical work. We actually went and picked out a beautiful, thick carpet today and we can't wait to sink our feet into it while we watch a movie. ;-)
Christina is trying to keep her head above water and her voice down as she watches the kids at home. The hardest part is trying to fit in enough time for work, but with help of family and friends she is coming to a better balance. She loves being there for each growing moment of Carter and Savannah. We have already taken Savi snowmobiling and she loved it! We can't wait to go again.
Carter is the cutest, smartest, funniest 2 1/2 year old big brother. He is talking a lot now and starting to tell us stories of his adventures. He also is a pretty protective over "Vannah". He likes to hold her for a couple minutes a day and he is very good at telling us when she is happy and doesn't need the paci anymore, and he is also a pro at apologizing for being too rough. We tried about a week of slightly persistent potty training and then I gave up since he and I are just not fully ready for the transition.
Savannah is the cutest 4 month old little sister! The first couple of months with her were pretty rough, but now she is super smiley and we all have seem to figure each other out. She has dimples on both sides, but her right one is always more apparent. She is a total druel monster right now and LOVES to suck on her hands or anything in front of her mouth. She has been sleeping through the night since she was a 6 weeks and she is starting to chunk up. We think she is super strong since she's been able to stand up and hold her head up for a while now, and she just started sitting up last week. She doesn't like to do it for long since it squishes her tummy, but it sure is cute.
As far as our house goes we have a few big changes...we upgraded to stainless steel appliances in our kitchen. We found some great deals at Sears that we couldn't pass up, so now we just need to find the time and money to stain the cabinets.
Right now though our priority is finishing our basement! We were planning on working on it this month, but we are even a little more anxious now because we had our friends James and Kelly move into our basement. They had to leave their last place pretty quick and they just need a place for a few months while they house hunt. Right now most of their stuff is in our garage so that we could finish things. The hardest part is that the reality of the costs of everything is settling in, but it still is super exciting! Hopefully we'll have it all done in about 2-3 weeks. Well, I think that is enough novel for now...until next time. :)
