We love our motorcycle!! It has been so much fun to ride in this hot weather! We took a ride up to the cabin yesterday to see all that Mike and his brother Dan did. It was awesome!



We had yet another productive weekend up at the cabin. We found gorgeous tiles to do the counter tops, and we bought everyone that Home Depot had! They were on clearance and they were only at one Home Depot so we think it is meant to be.

Anyway, Mike spent Saturday getting the cabinets ready for the weight of a tile counter top, and some of them needed a lot of work, but Mike can make anything look good! We got the cabinets as a hand-me-down, but once we paint and stain the wood they are going to look beautiful!

Mike & Dan also got the first coat of paint done in the loft! The drywall in the loft has been ridiculous to work with, so we are definitely anxious to be done with it. Dan is especially glad that there is absolutely no more sanding to be done!! One more coat and then the carpet!

Things are looking SO GOOD up at the cabin! We have made some awesome finishing touches to the cabin. We are getting so close!!



This last weekend we finished two important projects...the bamboo hardwood floor and the stairs! This was all possible due to Mikey's new Makita drill.

The bamboo hardwood floor is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined! It is wild and crazy, but it adds such beauty to the cabin. It's hard to believe that this gorgeous floor is made out of grass! It is the hardest wood floor that you can buy, and we love it! Of course these pictures can't do it justice.



Dan & Terry also worked hard to lacquer the mop boards, which was difficult because of the wind and bugs and everything that kept falling on the boards, but they did a great job! Putting those up will completely finish the beautiful floor!

The stairs are another beautiful sight in the cabin. Mike designed the stair case and he did an amazing job! We have been using a ladder for a year to get up to the loft, and it was so nice to put it away!


At the end of the end of the day the rest of Mike's family came up to celebrate Terry's 54th Birthday! He got all sorts of good things to eat, but the biggest present was a cell phone! Welcome to the 21st century! :-)


It was a late Saturday night as usual, but it was nice to see that all of our hard work is paying off. Our next projects are to paint the upstairs and lay carpet to FINISH the loft. Then to FINISH the downstairs, we need to put down mop boards, install the cabinets, and put new tile counter tops in the kitchen. It is so exciting to bring things to a close! We love the cabin!!

Yes! Yes!! YES!!!

Mike's brother Andy graduated from High School!! It's official! He has his diploma.


We couldn't be more happy for him! He's finally done with that part of his life, and no one is more grateful than his mom. Her and Dan claimed that they will never wake him up again!

He graduated from Alta High School like his other siblings, but the graduation ceremony was held all the way down at UVSC in Orem. It was a really windy day, but it was a great time to see Andy complete this part of his life.

It's Cabin Time Again!

Yeah for warm weather! The snow has finally melted so we are back to finishing the cabin. Were excited to finally get to work on the finishing touches. In the last couple of weeks we have gotten a lot done with the walls. Sanding definitely is our least favorite part!



Not only did we finish the sanding, but we finished lacquering! So now the pine and cedar wood just shines all day long!

The biggest thing that we got done this weekend was that we no longer have to look at the ugly green drywall with smooth putty spots. Now, we get to look at beautiful, rich, dark red walls!!! We're getting close!
