Hey ya'll! We had the best vacation down at South Carolina! Mike got to finally meet Christina's southern roots. Christina flew out with her 4 sisters on a Wednesday, and then after Mike finished his finals he came and joined all the girls. It was a monumental vacation because all 5 Habel girls were able to come out to South Carolina.
We had a great time seeing Christina's parents' new house.
With Ginger's help their house looks like one out of a magazine.
Their house is even more set apart by their extremely steep driveway. This picture doesn't do the incline justice because more than once we scraped bottom in the cars.
Mom & Dad had a great surprise for their daughters when they flew in because Nate had drove all the way from Nebraska to surprise us! He came to represent the males of the Habel family. We're so glad that he did.
Leave it up to Nate to get McDonald's to fill a huge cup full of ice cream for less than $2! He even shared some of his precious ice cream, but only if we had a clean spoon. No double dipping!
We also had the great pleasure of having an extended family party at Uncle Jimmy's famous lakeside home. It is so beautiful out there, and the perfect place to go fishing.
Nate was really the only one who caught a fish worth keeping, but it was fun to just go riding on the lake as well as using the paddle boat.
One of the biggest things that happened while we were there was the Grandma Edwards took a ride in Uncle Jimmy's shiny bright red boats. She said that it was more fun than a ferris wheel!
Another monumental moment was for Christina's cousin's seven month little boy, Cooper. Christina's other cousin Heath is opening a swimming class for babies and toddlers, and little Cooper learned how to breath under water, kick, float, and even save himself if he ever fell into a pool in only 5 days!! It was amazing! It was also hard to watch as he was crying, but he did a fantastic job! Click on the Web Albums link of the right hand side of this blog and you can check out a video of how well he did.
They literally just dropped little Cooper into the pool and he fought his way back up and onto his back, and he's only 7 MONTHS OLD! Knowing how to do these things will literally save his life.
We had a fantastic time in South Carolina!! We were even able to visit the grave of Christina's Aunt Ruthie and Grandpa Edwards, which topped off the best vacation ever!
