Now most of our entries are just going to be about how cute Carter is, but can you blame us? Look at how adorable!
His is already grown out of his other cute newborn shoes, but it's fun that these flip flops still fit. His is so sweet and innocent...at least when he's sleeping. ;-)

He is really starting to smile a ton now, and he's even starting to smile at us instead of just off in his own little world. He has his really alert times in the morning where you can just put him in his bouncer, or on your knees and he entertains himself for awhile. We've been trying to capture his smile on camera, but we mostly get his other adorable faces.

We're not sure exactly how much Carter weighs now, but it is probably 11 or 12 pounds. It's cute because he is starting to get some chunk. Christina claims that his double chin is the only physical trait Carter got from his mom. ;-)

Our really good friend, Luke and Michele Baxter had their first baby just last Thursday. Her name is Vivian Marie and she was 8 lbs 4 oz and 22 inches long, so she was a little bigger than Carter. What was ironic is that Vivian was also bum down! So Michele had to have a c-section as well, but she looks great and she is recovering quickly.

Their little girl is absolutely adorable! We definitely had to get some pictures of Carter's future girlfriend. He's already checking her out! Won't they make a cute couple? ;-)

Today is a sad, yet "happy" day because Mike started school again. The really only "happy" thing about that is that he's that much closer to finishing his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Hopefully this semester will go as well or even better than last semester. He is just now starting to really dive into his mechanical classes. This semester he is taking Mechatronics, Fluids, and Thermodynamics II. The summer went by fast as usual, but the time was fabulous. Especially since we were blessed with Carter. Here are some dang cute pictures of our baby boy that we took this month.

CARTER UPDATE - We think he is weighing in at about 10 pounds now and at least 23 inches long. He is pretty good at night, but he doesn't sleep all the way through yet. He wakes up about 3ish, 5ish, and 8ish, but he is usually pretty good about going back to sleep once he's fed. Mike has surprised Christina a few times and taken over the night feedings with the bottles that she pumps. It is the best present and show of affection.
First time in the grass. With his cousin Annamarie (We think you can totally tell they're related.) Snuggling with friend Dan.
He keeps changing the positions he likes to be in on us. This week for Mike it is belly side down over the arm with his face in Mike's hand, and for Christina he is snuggling pretty well as she cradles him close with a paci. He definitely keeps us on our toes, but we are loving every minute.
We've got some priceless videos of him. Maybe we can figure out how to post some of them. He really smiles a ton, but he still doesn't quite smile on demand if you try to make him. We went and got an ultrasound for his hips, and the doc said that his right one is completely normal, and the left is "normal for his age." Meaning that it is a little rounded, but it will more than likely sharpen up by three months. We'll just keep an eye on him and maybe have another ultrasound in October. Carter is healthy and as cute as can be.

So it has been way too long since we've updated this blog. We promise to make up for it in the next couple of days. To start off we wanted to write about our last two Saturdays. Yesterday was a first for all three of us. We went fishing up at East Canyon with Bryan & Tracy.

We have never been there, but it 's a gorgeous drive and beautiful reservoir. It was very popular yesterday with tons of boats, which made fishing kind of annoying, but we really had a good time out in the sun. It was our real first time just enjoying the outdoors. Carter absolutely loved the sound of the waves. It kept him sleeping for a long time and then he was pretty content just hanging out the rest of the time.

Carter chilling and fishing with his Daddy.
This is Mike pretending to fish. Don't you like his form? :-)
We stayed for about 4 hours, and the guys tried power bait, worms, and some other stuff, but the fish weren't even biting. Christina was bored of just waiting around so she asked if she could just fish and reel it in, so Mike changed the fly. Then only after a few not so great casts Christina reeled in a fish!! It was a pretty good size crappie fish, but sadly it was the only one we caught for the day, but it was all worth it since it was so beautiful outside.

Last Saturday, the 16th, was also really fun and special because a family that Mike baptized in Taiwan came through Salt Lake so we were able to spend a few precious moments with them. They are actually living in California now, but it was their first time to Salt Lake.

We met them at Temple Square and then went for some yummy ice cream at Baskin Robbins. It was great to see them again. The kids have grown a ton in last 4-5 years, and they no speak English very well, especially since they've come to America.

They were extremely sweet to give all three of us presents. We thought Carter's present of the "Little Devil" outfit was the best! They said that the name fits since he is Mike's son. ;-) Hopefully, we will be able to see them again soon.
