Our big girl

It's hard to believe that we'll soon have 2 little girls running around here. I wonder how much they'll be alike and different. Our not so little Savannah gives us something to smile about often. She's not afraid of much besides bugs so we seem to be constantly trying to find which neighbor house she has invited herself into.  :-) She's a girly girl who loves dress up, especially shoes, and taking care of dolls and stuffed animals. She is also a fish and will stay in the bath forever. She's very independent so things go more smooth if she thinks something is her idea. Sometimes a hard balance.  :-) She loves to talk and she'll just keep going and going to whomever will listen. It's amazing how much she knows and understands. She is sleeping in her big girl bed in Carter's room until we get this new little one on a schedule, then hopefully the transition will be as smooth as it was to go into Carter's room. With 2 girls we are finally going to girlify their room with lots of pink. Can't wait to post pictures! Lots of fun ahead.

Our big boy

Carter will be turning 5 on July 11th, and because we have year round school here he starts kindergarten on August 2nd! His last day of preschool is next Wednesday and he's done so well. He loves to be big like his dad. His outfit below with shorts, socks, and shoes is "like when daddy goes running". The kids have not been taking naps for awhile so every once and awhile Carter falls asleep while eating his dinner. It's so funny! The one with his legs down is after Savi tried to wake him up with kisses.  :-)

Our second little girl

I'm going to try and play catch up on some pictures I have from my phone.  :-) So over 3 months ago we had an ultrasound and found out we are having another girl! The kids were with us in the ultrasound, and Savannah was a bit scared about me having to lay down and the lights turning off, but luckily a sucker helped calm her down. She did keep asking me for weeks why I had to lay down. Pretty funny. Carter wanted a sister all up until the night before the ultrasound then he was all about a baby brother. Luckily he wasn't really upset.

We had Mike's family come over and Skyped my parents that night. They each picked a boy or girl piece of clothing for their guess. Most everyone guessed a boy, but Mike's dad was cute and said he thought it was a boy, but hoped for a girl.  :-) To tell everyone we made delicious coconut cream cupcakes and colored the filling to be pink so when they bit into one that is when they found out. It was so fun!

We can't wait for her to come! She moves a ton and the kids are always giving my belly kisses. It's going to be crazy to have 3, but were excited to meet this new little one.

Pregnant pic

Hey everyone, I know it's been a super long time since I've posted, but as always it's never too late to start again.  :-) I thought I'd start off with a pregnant pic since I only have 2 months left. This little girl is due June 30th, and I'm praying she'll come sometime in June instead of keeping with the trend of my first 2 and come later than the due date. The kids are excited to have a little baby, and we're working on getting the room all girlie.  :-)

Halloween Treat

On this Halloween day
We have a treat for you
Number 3 is on its way
So it'll be three against two

We had a great Halloween and loved being Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Mike made our shells out of foam and duct tape. So creative! The kids were adorable trick or treating! It will be fun to have another little one to dress up next year.  :-)

Cute hair

With our hair dresser/friend on bed rest we have not gotten hair cuts for awhile, and from a few posts back you saw my attempt at cutting Savannah's hair. She didn't really let us cut it, so to be sure she'd be as cute as could be for her 2nd birthday I took her to Cookie Cutters. When it was her turn she threw a fit until a put a sucker in her mouth, then she was perfect! Afterwards we went and got some caramel apples from Rocky Mountain and the kids picked out a Frankenstein one. It was a great day and we can't wait for her birthday tomorrow!

Getting better and better

You might be sick of hearing about it, but our deck keeps getting better and better! Yesterday we got the permit approval from the city for the deck and they didn't find anything wrong! Then today Mike and I put up the facia on the deck! It really gives it a great finished look, but honestly it is the only part of the deck I was hoping I wouldn't have to help with because the strain my muscles felt being fully extended to hold up boards for hours. :) We're both pretty burned out on this project, but we love the result. Since we're too late this year we'll focus on getting the yard done next year, but we've been so thankful to have the cement pad while we've worked. I also included some before and after photos because it is so amazing to be DONE!! The kids love playing in the back and it is so reassuring to know that they are safe now...as long as you don't get to close to Savannah and the hammer.  ;-)

Almost 2!

Savannah is turning 2 in less than a week! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. She is such a joy in our life. Those that are around are invited to her birthday party at our house next Monday, Oct 22nd, which is her actually birthday. It is going to be Strawberry Shortcake theme because that is currently her favorite show. She is such a girly girl and enjoys things like baby dolls and drawing. She is already in size 3T clothes and will soon be in a size 7 shoe.

The party is from 7-9 but just stop by whenever you can. Our address is:
5214 Butterfield Peak Circle

FINALLY!!!!

At 10:02 tonight we put the finishing cap on our deck!! It is amazing! We had to create a way to make a supportive angle at the top of the stairs without a beam. That was difficult, but with our powers combined we came up with a sturdy answer. We also installed the slide, and after Carter went down it once he said it was too fast and didn't want to try again. We'll have to work on that.  :-) We just need to put the fascia on to add the finishing touch. It felt so good to takeoff the bars that have been blocking our kitchen and bedroom doors. SO AWESOME! We will have a party soon...Savi's 2nd birthday on the 22nd!
