Carter is now cruising around when it comes to crawling. This morning he crawled from the bathroom to the kitchen to get Christina. He also will "chase" Mike around the house and vice versa. It is adorable and stressful to see him just go for anything that he wants. We are realizing that our home is not as baby proof as we thought.

Yesterday was Kelly's Bridal Shower for the area she grew up in. Since Mike was gone studying all night Carter and Christina got to go and enjoy the good food and fun. Carter was gobbled up right when got there, but he didn't mind one bit. He loved all the attention from the girls and goldfish crackers that they would feed him.
A lot of the guests didn't know who we were exactly, but as soon as Michael Jenson was mentioned, then everyone was like "Oh, we love Michael!" It's fun to have the people that Mike grew up with share stories and memories. He is truly a great guy!
Kelly looked beautiful, of course, and she got a ton of great loot. We gave Kelly just a simply frame with a clock on one side. She said that she was going to put it on their nightstand with a picture of Carter since they love him so much.We are excited to see her and James get hitched. We love them so much, and Carter adores them both!

He crawled!! Ok, so it is official. Carter has made attempts before and he has taken maybe a step or two, but tonight he was crawling! He hasn't realized that he was mobile yet, so we're safe for probably another week, but he knows that he can crawl and get to something he wants.
What got him to finally make the move? Tools! Christina had tried putting bottles of nail polish and other toys for him to get, but he just wouldn't do it. Then she pulled out a drill bit set and he was off so quickly towards them that we didn't have time to get a video or anything. We did manage to get one later that night, and it was priceless. Our little boy is not so little anymore. We don't know where the time flew to, but we have loved every minute of it.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today is the day of love and we loved sleeping in and relaxing as a family together. We started off the late morning with heart shaped waffles with strawberries and cool whip on top. They looked fabulous and tasted divine.
Of course we had to let Carter in on the fun, so here is his reaction to his first taste of a strawberry. We also gave him some pieces of waffle and strawberries while we were eating and he kept making this face that we had to capture. He never cried or anything like he didn't like it, but we think that the sweetness of the strawberries got to him.
Carter actually had a tough night sleeping so while Christina and Carter took a nap, Mike went and cleaned up his truck because he was going to show it someone. Then for the night we went to Noodles and Company and ended the night getting a few things at Target and spending time with Kelly and James. It was a nice, relaxing day which is exactly what we wanted. For all you wondering girls, Mike did past the test. He made me breakfast, bought me socks, lip gloss, and chocolate. Absolutely perfect!

Carter is 7 months old today! He is growing up so fast that his birth feels like it was just yesterday. He is our curious george, and like most babies everything has to go into his mouth to see if it pasts the test. We've been trying to give him different foods to see if he likes them, and for fun Mike gave him an orange bell
pepper. He absolutely loved it!! He just attacked it like he hadn't eaten for hours, and he wouldn't let it go. Orange bells kind of have a sweet flavor so his two little teeth were scraping away. Then he figured out how to bite a chunk off and we had to take it away, but it was priceless!
We also finally got him a high chair! The Bumbo has served it's purpose, but he has figured out how to push himself out of it so it's hard to feed him in it. We don't have much room in our apartment, so this seat is perfect. It is sturdy and easy to use and clean up. We would totally recommend it for anyone. Carter thought it was pretty cool, although he did realize that it is more restricting than his Bumbo.

Kisses! Carter has learned how to give the famous open mouth kisses. He doesn't give them to his mom very much, so she is jealous of everyone else, but it is pretty dang cute.
Carter has also learned to use his mouth to create even more spit. He loves blowing bubbles and making spitting noises. He thinks he is so cool when he does it.

Christina finally got to go snowmobiling for the season! The guys have been working out some kinks with the machines so we've missed the last couple of weeks, but they were finally fixed. Cheri was sweet enough to stay behind this trip and watch Carter. So we went along with Mike's Dad, brother, and his girlfriend, Analise.
It really wasn't too cold and there was a fresh layer of powder. It was kind of snowing though so we couldn't stay long at the Bowl because it was a bit of white out. We had no points of reference so everything was just white and you couldn't tell the depth or dips of the land. Anyway, Christina's favorite place to snowmobile is at the lake by the cabin. No one ever seems to go over there so it's always untouched with plenty of powder. You totally get covered with snow which just makes it even more fun.Unfortunately we had to leave a little early because our friends from Idaho were in town and we were going to have dinner, but we did get a good amount of playing in to make it a great trip. It will be fun when we can take Carter snowmobiling, but that will have to wait until next season.

Carter is so close to crawling. Here is a video to show how close he is. For awhile now he's been going from a sitting position to pushing off towards something on his belly, but lately he is staying on his knees more and getting that one leg going. He's just got to figure out how to make everything else move too.

We forgot to post a couple weeks ago an awesome snowmobiling trip that Mike's sister Angela and Steve went on as well as Dan and Terry. It was the last trip before school had to start again for Mike. It had been awhile since Angela & Steve have gone, but of course they had a great time even though it was absolutely freezing! Mike is always over prepared when it comes to dressing warm and he was still cold! Here are some awesome pics from the trip.

Happy Birthday Andrea!!!
Christina's cousin Andrea turned 26 today!! We went out there to give her a gift and see her new place. Her new place is much more spacious than her last place which makes it easier for her to get around. Carter was intrigued by her apartment and the "new" faces. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked because Carter needed to go to bed, but we had a good time visiting and reminiscing about old memories.

Here are Carter's stats:
15.3 pounds - 14%
27 inches long - 68%
He is a little "small" for his age, but that doctor said that there is nothing to worry about. Some babies are just more lean and tall, but he is eating and growing just fine. We also found out that his reaction to the soy formula was not uncommon, and the doc said we can probably feed him that without any problem or worries. He did give us some Enfamil Gentlease to try though so we are set on formula for awhile. Anyway, Carter is just growing up and becoming more and more fun each day. We love it!

So we had the wonderful yet rare pleasure of having Christina's sister Julie and her husband Nathan come out to Salt Lake. Unfortunately, it wasn't a "fun" trip, at least for Nathan because he had to get a tooth pulled, but we mad the best of it. We went out to Tucano's to stuff ourselves full of delicious meat.
Then we were able to chill at Jana and Kyle's house for awhile. It was always a pleasure for Christina to be able to hang out with her sisters. She looks up to each one of them so much.
The boys were way cute and it is fun to see them together. You can tell that Jared is the youngest because he doesn't hesitate to find out how Carter feels. He's definitely not afraid of anything. Carter handles it pretty well. It will be interesting to see them grow up together.

Saturday was a first for a few things. The main "first" for Carter was that he was given his first taste of formula! Christina has been able to pump while she is at work to meet his needs when she is gone, but as Carter grows she is finding it more difficult to replace what he eats the day before. So on Saturday we were on the go and decided we should have him try formula since it is inevitable that he'll start eating it soon. Here is the video of his reaction to the new taste of soy.We were glad that he seem to eat it just fine, but we're not sure that soy formula is the way to go. Carter acted just fine, but he didn't go "potty" for 2 whole days! We've got a doctor's appointment on Thursday for his 6 month shots, so we'll see what he says, but we might need to try a different type of formula.

Another "first" for our little family was going to the Sundance Festival in Park City. We went with Mike's siblings and it was a fun time. There were tons of people and it was extremely cold, but we all bundled up and had fun walking down main street and eating pizza.
We even took Carter! We thought we were the only crazy parents to bring a baby, but by the end of the night we saw two other infants, so we had company in the crazy house. Carter actually did pretty good. He loved just looking at everyone and all the lights, and he really did love being outside. Mike's bicep was killing by the end of the night, but it was worth bringing Carter along with us. We would have missed him too much if we left him.

We left early for Carter's sake since it was so cold and late, but the rest of the group stayed and walked some more. They finally did see one movie star before they left. They got to see Spiderman's boss, J. Jonah Jameson, who is played by J.K. Simmons. Steve pretty much walked side by side with him before he realized who he was.
