The Grand Canyon!!!

The best thing about Mike going to the U is that he has spring break, unlike the Y. This spring break we went with Mike's family down to the South Rim in Arizona. None of us had ever been there before, so we were all in awe by its beauty.

We left on a Wednesday and drove down to Paige, UT (Lake Powell) where we stayed in a motel. The following pictures are from the amazing dam that makes Lake Powell possible.

We set up camp in the woods on Thursday, and then went down to the following lookout point.

We were hoping that Friday would be the perfect day to go to the other lookout points, but it didn't stop raining until at least noon!! :-( So it was weird to look out into the Grand Canyon and not see anything, but it definitely gave us a different perspective and a few sweet pictures.

Luckily, the next day turned out perfect! Since we really only had one day at the canyon, we didn't do any hikes down into the canyon, but we had a fabulous time walking along the rim for a few miles.

The boys had plenty of fun trying to look like this guy:

Even though we only had one good day, it ended perfectly with a gorgeous sunset. We couldn't believe how beautiful and magnificent the Grand Canyon was. We can't wait to go back!!!

Mike and his brother Dan and their Dad got a ton done at the cabin this weekend! We have to wait to finish the cabin until it's warmer because our next big steps are to putty, sand, and paint, which doesn't go over well in freezing temperatures. There were a few things in the cabin that were bugging us and this weekend they got them done.

First off, they finished the wood upstairs and installed the lights.

They also finished a few wood pieces above the doors and windows. It was just the little things that were buggin' so it's great that they got it all taken care of.

Finishing up with those little projects means that we could finally put the saw away so we don't have to create messes like this anymore.

Now it is so much more clean and open. Yeah!!

It was kind of sad that they worked more than they played because it snowed a ton and the powder and weather was beautiful! Check out these pictures!
