Yeah for summer! We started taking advantage of the nice weather and Mike not having homework by going on hikes! We were given this awesome child carrier to "easily" take Carter with us. (Easy for Christina and Carter anyway.) Carter love being outside and he loved riding on Mike's back. Our first hike was just a very short one up to a waterfall in Sandy, but it felt good to get out and the water was amazing!

Carter just recently started making this new noise that just cracks us up. We got him to do it on the hike.

A try at a family photo. :-)

Our second hike up Bell Canyon was a little steeper and longer, but so worth it because it was so beautiful! These pictures are pretty good, but sadly you can never capture the true beauty of everything.
It was the perfect time to hike because it wasn't too hot or cold, there was green everywhere, and there were very few bugs out so it made for a wonderful time!

Carter looks so mad in this first picture because a few moments later he was out! It's a tough job hiking! :-)

He stayed asleep for quite awhile until we came back to the rushing river. Then he was awake and ready to eat some power snacks...chips! Yum!

We love living in such a beautiful state with easy access to such amazing outdoors. We also love bringing Carter with us on our adventures. One of our favorite parts though is always heading home because the views with the sunsets are just breathtaking.

We finally got to visit Grandma Jenson! We were a week late for Mother's Day, but better late than never. ;-) Grandma Jenson is always so happy and bursting with love Carter enjoyed getting to be with her, especially since there were bubbles.

Grandpa Jenson got this great antique calculator from DI years ago, and Carter thought it was pretty cool. He also enjoyed riding on Grandma's chair.

What a fantastic and busy Mother's Day! Honestly, yesterday was not exactly how I thought it would turn out, but it was wonderful in the end. To start off, I had to give a talk in sacrament meeting AND teach in Relief Society! Talk about stressful! The talk was about how I was grateful to be a new mom. I started off my talk saying that God has a sense of humor by assigning me this talk because the whole week before Carter had croup so my shoulder was a constant snot rag, I didn't get much sleep, and I couldn't comfort by baby. Then to top it off I was losing my voice for that talk and for my lesson later that day. That got a good laugh out of the audience and many sympathetic looks of women who knew exactly how I felt. The really sad part was that Mike was super super sick so he left early to get some rest. He so wanted to do more, but he did get me a beautiful rose and chocolate. My favorite! Then my sister Jana left a bundle of roses and a wonderful card so I felt very loved.

Even though none of us were feeling the best, we wanted to try and see both of Mike's grandmas, but we were only able to see Grandma Youngmen. (We'll catch Grandma Jenson next week.) Anyway, it was great to see Grandma again and bring her a few gifts and brownies. She's looking good and we love her so much.

After visiting Grandma we headed over to the parents house for a dinner with Mom Jenson. Cheri is such a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. She does so much for us, and Carter absolutely adores her. We wish my mom was close, but we are grateful for her and all that she does. A fun part of this day was to test out the new dirt bike. Carter LOVED it! He hated to get off and he did great holding on while Mike took up and down the street.

I am grateful to be the mother of such a wonderful little boy. He is the joy of my life and I love to see him grow each day. I wish that I could be with him more, but I know that he loves me despite my short comings, and I couldn't have asked for anything more this Mother's Day.

Happy Day! Dan got to walk yesterday for graduation in Health Promotion from the University of Utah in December. It was awesome to see him dressed in his robes and for this day to finally come. They had a great ceremony with some inspirational talks.

Mike definitely looks up to Dan for graduating. Next year this time will be an extremely happy day because Mike will be done with his Mechanical Engineering degree from the U.

After the 5 o'clock ceremony we headed to the parents house for some yummy pizza and presents. Analise got him this huge awesome card that played the graduation song in it as well as a bluetooth headset. The rest of the family gave him his favorite thing...money!!

We're down to less than a month before Dan gets hitched to his beautiful fiance Analise. We can't wait for the happy day to come. Last night the Jenson girls (Cheri, Angela, and Christina) were invited to a bridal shower for Analise hosted by the ward that she grew up in.

Carter really doesn't like the grass. :-)

We had the pleasure of meeting many women who have influenced her life and love her so much. They also were curious to meet Dan so he was invited too and it was fun to have them together. There was wonderful food, and games, as well as a lot of great loot for the happy couple.

We're excited to have Analise be apart of our family!

So Carter has croup, but after a bath he was being dang cute and he taught himself his favorite game. Peek-a-Boo!
