We forgot to post a couple weeks ago an awesome snowmobiling trip that Mike's sister Angela and Steve went on as well as Dan and Terry. It was the last trip before school had to start again for Mike. It had been awhile since Angela & Steve have gone, but of course they had a great time even though it was absolutely freezing! Mike is always over prepared when it comes to dressing warm and he was still cold! Here are some awesome pics from the trip.

Happy Birthday Andrea!!!
Christina's cousin Andrea turned 26 today!! We went out there to give her a gift and see her new place. Her new place is much more spacious than her last place which makes it easier for her to get around. Carter was intrigued by her apartment and the "new" faces. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked because Carter needed to go to bed, but we had a good time visiting and reminiscing about old memories.

Carter has his 6 month shots today! He was a super wiggle worm while we talked with the doctor, and he even squirmed when he was checking his ears. The doc said that he was acting more like an 8 or 9 month old because he knows his body and when you're invading his space and things. He said he wouldn't be surprised if he was walking by his 9 month appointment. We know that there will be some huge changes coming up in the next 6 months with Carter's growth and we're excited. Although, we must admit that he is at a perfect stage now, really active and fun, but not mobile yet. When that happens our whole world will turn upside down.
Here are Carter's stats:
15.3 pounds - 14%
27 inches long - 68%
He is a little "small" for his age, but that doctor said that there is nothing to worry about. Some babies are just more lean and tall, but he is eating and growing just fine. We also found out that his reaction to the soy formula was not uncommon, and the doc said we can probably feed him that without any problem or worries. He did give us some Enfamil Gentlease to try though so we are set on formula for awhile. Anyway, Carter is just growing up and becoming more and more fun each day. We love it!

So we had the wonderful yet rare pleasure of having Christina's sister Julie and her husband Nathan come out to Salt Lake. Unfortunately, it wasn't a "fun" trip, at least for Nathan because he had to get a tooth pulled, but we mad the best of it. We went out to Tucano's to stuff ourselves full of delicious meat.
Then we were able to chill at Jana and Kyle's house for awhile. It was always a pleasure for Christina to be able to hang out with her sisters. She looks up to each one of them so much.
The boys were way cute and it is fun to see them together. You can tell that Jared is the youngest because he doesn't hesitate to find out how Carter feels. He's definitely not afraid of anything. Carter handles it pretty well. It will be interesting to see them grow up together.

Saturday was a first for a few things. The main "first" for Carter was that he was given his first taste of formula! Christina has been able to pump while she is at work to meet his needs when she is gone, but as Carter grows she is finding it more difficult to replace what he eats the day before. So on Saturday we were on the go and decided we should have him try formula since it is inevitable that he'll start eating it soon. Here is the video of his reaction to the new taste of soy.
We were glad that he seem to eat it just fine, but we're not sure that soy formula is the way to go. Carter acted just fine, but he didn't go "potty" for 2 whole days! We've got a doctor's appointment on Thursday for his 6 month shots, so we'll see what he says, but we might need to try a different type of formula.
Another "first" for our little family was going to the Sundance Festival in Park City. We went with Mike's siblings and it was a fun time. There were tons of people and it was extremely cold, but we all bundled up and had fun walking down main street and eating pizza. We even took Carter! We thought we were the only crazy parents to bring a baby, but by the end of the night we saw two other infants, so we had company in the crazy house. Carter actually did pretty good. He loved just looking at everyone and all the lights, and he really did love being outside. Mike's bicep was killing by the end of the night, but it was worth bringing Carter along with us. We would have missed him too much if we left him.
We left early for Carter's sake since it was so cold and late, but the rest of the group stayed and walked some more. They finally did see one movie star before they left. They got to see Spiderman's boss, J. Jonah Jameson, who is played by J.K. Simmons. Steve pretty much walked side by side with him before he realized who he was.

Carter is 6 months old!! Wow, the time has flown by! It really does feel like we blinked in July and when we opened our eyes it was January. Having Carter in our lives is so much more fun and enjoyable then we ever imagined! He is truly the joy of our lives and he makes any day a great day just by his smile. He is such an easy going kid. From the beginning he has had a lot personality and curiosity. Every day he becomes more curious. He concentrates when he plays with toys and tries to figure out how things work. He is definitely like his dad in that way.
6 months is a big milestone for babies, so to celebrate we made him a double layer chocolate banana pudding cake with cool whip topping. He of course just got a taste of the cool whip on his binky, but he enjoyed that. He also just kept staring at all of us while we sang happy 6 months to him. Weird, we know, but it really was a good excuse to have cake. :-) Dad even let him cut it.
Here are some of his accomplishments and things that he likes at 6 months old: *He can sit up and has been for 2 months now *He has 2 teeth *He loves food - veggies and fruits *He has been 100% breastfed *He loves all the crazy things his dad does to play with him, especially his scruff *He smiles all the time and you can get him to laugh pretty easily too
*He is sleeping 6-7 hrs before waking up *He loves his reflection in the mirror *He is a master at his binky *He has started to reach for people he wants (Mama especially) *He is already good at lifting his legs up to walk - we just need to work on the balancing part *He is getting closer to crawling - he gets up on his legs and then pushes off *He can roll over, but doesn't do it too often unless he feels the need to. *He loves baths.
We feel like he has mature for his young age, but maybe that's just because we're biased. But we do know that he is the cutest boy in the whole world and we have just loved every minute with him. We're excited for the next 6 months and we know that lots of changes, i.e. crawling, walking, and talking, are coming up in the next 6 months. So keep checking our blog and we'll keep you updated on everything.

We are happy to announce that our friends Matt & Sarah that got engaged a few months back at the cabin were sealed today at the Salt Lake City Temple! We were able to go to their beautiful reception where they had a table full of delicious cupcakes and Cold Stone ice cream in waffle bowls with all the toppings. Sugar overload!
As most of you know, weddings are crazy so we didn't get the best pictures of the happy new couple, but we got to see some old friends and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. Dan also was the lucky one to catch the garter. So who knows, maybe this is his lucky year! He is dating a way cute girl. :-)
To end off the perfect day they got to take a carriage ride to their hotel. Everything was beautiful. We are excited for this new adventure in their life.
